As part of the process serving industry, there is much insight to be gained in speaking with others in your profession. The great part about the expansion of technology is that it is easier than ever to hold conservations with other process servers across the country. Sharing ideas, getting advice and discussing current legislation is all available with a few mouse clicks.
Here is a list and review of some of the available process serving forums and groups:
This relatively new group is still getting off the ground but has a number of active participants as well as interesting topics. With greater participation this group could grow to be a great outlet for process servers.
Facebook group: Service of Process Moving Forward
Started by former NAPPS President Jeff Karotkin, this group requires a Facebook account to join, but the rewards are well worth it. The most current news in addition to discussions surrounding process servers as well as numerous participants who bring forward thought provoking material make this group a must join. Get ready to discuss transparency issues in NAPPS, recent process serving headlines and general serving tips and advice. In order to join you must search for “Service of Process Looking Forward” and request to join, making this an exclusive forum devoted solely to process serving.
Yahoo Groups: Process-server
While this group can be potentially useful for getting some work as members sometimes send out requests for a server in a particular area, you have to be willing to sift through the countless number of self-promotional posts. If you decide to join this group you may be better off setting your account up to receive one email a day rather than inundate your email account with numerous emails throughout the day.
LinkedIn Group: Process Servers and Service of Subpoenas
LinkedInGroup: Process Servers
The Process Servers group was started by Serve Now but both groups are worth being a part of. Whether you need advice on what software to use or how to handle clients that haven’t paid, the members of this group are always willing to lend a helping hand. As a member of these you groups you can also contribute your valuable feedback to your fellow process servers.
